Cielo Valenzuela-Lara was recognized as a 2021 YoungArts Merit Winner by the National YoungArts Foundation
Cielo Valenzuela-Lara (IA, ‘22) was recognized as a 2021 YoungArts Merit Winner for Writing (Spoken Word) by the National YoungArts Foundation. As part of this recognition, two of her poems were published in the 2021 National YoungArts Week Anthology and Catalogue (For more information, please visit: https://bit.ly/3AZFMfS). As a member of the professional spoken word poetry troupe the Get Lit Players, Cielo was commissioned to write and perform a poem to launch a social media campaign for a new website aimed at raising awareness about adverse childhood experiences.
