CSArts-SGV’s Arts Conservatories are kicking off their seventh season stronger than ever! Check out this comprehensive list of their Fall Events to save the date for some of our most spectacular shows to date.
Musical Theatre’s Ride the Cyclone: In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other — the chance to return to life. Don’t miss your chance to watch Musical Theatre’s rendition of Ride the Cyclone at the Duarte Performing Arts Center from Sept. 28-30.
Popular Music’s Fall Showcase: Join the Popular Music Conservatory at their debut showcase! Enjoy performances from all five student bands, as well as solo acts. Catch the performance at the Duarte Performing Arts Center on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
Visual Arts’ Annual Painted Pumpkin Auction: The Painted Pumpkin Auction is back! Stop by the CSArts-SGV Lobby starting on Oct. 11 to view all of the fantastic pumpkins created by our Visual Arts students. Don't forget to bid for a chance to bring your favorites home, the auction closes on Oct. 25!
Instrumental Music’s Fall Large Ensemble Concert: The Instrumental Music Conservatory will present a wide variety of music in different settings with its first concert of CSArts’ seventh season! This concert will feature the CSArts Wind Ensemble, Symphonia, Jazz Orchestra and the CSArts Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert will take place at the Duarte Performing Arts Center on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
Acting’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream: The Acting Conservatory is thrilled to share its rendition of a story of order and disorder, reality and appearances, and love and marriage. This show is in collaboration with the School of Dance and the Instrumental Music Conservatory, giving you the chance to support many of our wonderful conservatories from Oct. 19-21 in the CSArts-SGV Quad.
Creative Writing’s Open Mic Night: The Creative Writing Conservatory holds many Open Mic Nights throughout the year. Open Mic Night allows Creative Writing students the chance to be onstage, presenting their original work. Attendance is free, so make sure to stop by the CSArts-SGV Quad on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. to hear their poems, short stories, songs, and more!
Musical Theatre’s The Fantasticks: The Fantasticks is a musical allegory about the romance of a young couple, Matt and Luisa, who find their relationship tested by their meddling fathers and a bandit narrator known as El Gallo. Students in the Musical Theatre Conservatory will tell this tale at the Sierra Madre Playhouse from Nov. 2-4.
Integrated Arts’ Variety Show: With a mix of all different acts, Integrated Arts students will sing, dance, and showcase all of their incredible talents at their Variety Show! The performance will take place on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Duarte Performing Arts Center.
Instrumental Music’s Fall Piano Recital: Students of the Instrumental Music Conservatory Pianist Program present an evening of classical and contemporary solo piano repertoire. Join them at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.
Vocal Arts’ Fall Showcase: This musical evening will feature soloists and small ensembles from the Vocal Arts Conservatory performing music in the styles of jazz, folk, pop, and classical. With a variety of music styles, there is something for everyone! Join them on Nov. 9 at the Duarte Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.
Popular Music’s Fall Open Mic: Hear show stopping performances from our brand new Popular Music Conservatory as they perform at their first Open Mic! Both solo acts and bands will perform songs of various styles. Be sure to come down to the CSArts-SGV Quad on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. for a thrilling show.
Instrumental Music’s Guitar Recital: Please join the CSArts Guitar Ensemble of the Instrumental Music Conservatory for an exciting evening of guitar music! Students will perform solo & small ensemble pieces from a variety of composers. This night of diverse guitar music you won't want to miss will take place at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.
