Ms. Riley Marx holds a Master of Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Loyola Marymount University, where she trained at the Moscow Art Theatre. Ms. Marx is a theatre director, educator, and actor whose work is rooted in a belief that artists grow best by working across disciplines.

Ms. Marx built her career leading theatre programs across Southern California, including as Theater Department Head at San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara and at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles. She first came to CSArts-SGV as Assistant to the Chair of Theater and faculty member of the Acting and Musical Theatre conservatories, later serving as Production Manager, working closely with every department on campus. During this time, she also directed Acting Conservatory productions, including The Wolves and John Proctor Is the Villain. She has served as Associate Artistic Director of On the Verge Theater Company, has acted and performed in theatre, film, and commercials, and has directed nearly 20 productions over the course of her career.

That cross-disciplinary view now shapes her approach as Director of Integrated Arts. Drawing on multi-hyphenate artists who train across forms in order to find their singular voice, Ms. Marx believes the breadth of an artist's study becomes the depth of their vision. She is building a program that prepares students to think, create, and collaborate across disciplines, becoming confident, resilient, well-rounded artists.
